Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor also known as a producer, director and actress. She has been praised for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The movie Piano earned her numerous awards which included an Oscar. Early on she began performing on stage in various Broadway or Off Broadway productions. The art of acting has been a constant obsession. In the fifth grade she was cast as Helen Keller in an original production. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in one ear, but she didn't let this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actor. When she was in college studying drama, she moved in New York City with her plans to achieve them. In a chance encounter she got stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which became Hunter's debut. After that, she moved to Los Angeles and tried to get movie roles. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. Her career spans more than thirty years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
