Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the film Piano. In her early years her acclaimed actress started playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. In her early years, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth year play. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one of her ears, but this was not enough to stop the actress from pursuing her dream. She studied drama at college before moving between Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in the lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. After moving to Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure a supporting role in Swing Shift. Her professional career spans over thirty years and she's appeared in a variety of TV films, films and series. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
